Collective Act
Collective Act are not-for-profit, multi-award winning creative producers of participatory shared experiences that bring people together to transform the way we look at the world. A flexible and independent team, we have an exceptional track record of producing high quality public programmes. We collaborate with a rich and dynamic ecology of creatives, academics and healthcare experts, working alongside a wide range of community and civic partners to deliver programmes designed to achieve genuine social impact. Collective Act was formed in 2021 to deliver Dreamachine, a multi-award winning, UK wide, £10 million government funded programme - one of the ten major commissions funded by DCMS as part of Unboxed: Creativity in the UK.
Jennifer leads the vision and direction of Collective Act. She has previously led critically acclaimed projects for arts organisations and festivals around the world, creating ambitious and award-winning interdisciplinary commissions with artists including Olafur Eliasson, Danny Boyle, Christo and Jeremy Deller. A member of the Mayor of London’s Cultural Leadership Board from 2017-22, she was also Director of the UK/India Year of Culture in 2017 for British Council.
Jane is a strategic cultural producer and community organiser. She was previously the Tate Exchange Programme Manager at Tate Modern - an open experiment that sought to explore the role of art in society, developed in collaboration with artists and a community of 65+ Associate organisations from diverse sectors including education, health, and social justice. Jane has led Dreamachine’s community engagement strategies since 2021.
As a serial COO, leadership consultant and mentor, Jo supports organisations through transformative strategic and operational change, and helps start-ups and scale ups to set up for success. Jo co-founded the world’s first 3D-printed toy company Makielab, ethical tech think tank Doteveryone, and Our Future Health, a health research programme which aimed to accelerate prevention of chronic diseases and help people live in good health for longer.
Janice is Director of the Cogency, one of the UK’s leading cultural marketing and communications agencies, with over 20 years of experience delivering strategic, creative, and award-winning campaigns across the arts, culture and heritage sectors, including for SXSW London, Oxford Cultural Programme, Illuminated River, and 14-18 NOW. Janice has supported the strategy and delivery of Dreamachine’s marketing campaigns since 2021.
Passionate about building philanthropic resilience, Georgie has been creating fundraising start-ups and fixes for over 25 years - helping 'for impact' organisations to innovate and raise funds. She specialises in identifying the ‘why’ of organisations to create major donor programmes which kick start fundraising. She is Philanthropy Manager of the Brilliant Club and was previously Development Director of the Lightbox Gallery.
Suzie is a financial expert with more than 25 years of experience in commercial and corporate finance, helping early-stage companies and SMEs get ready to scale and achieve sustainable growth. In addition to raising funds from pre-seed to Series A, across debt, grants, tax reliefs and VC, angel and crowdfunding equity, Suzie has extensive experience in business and growth strategy, identifying viable commercial models and investment funding.
David is a passionate advocate for the role of creativity at the centre of civic society and the ability of the arts to forge both temporary and lasting communities. His skills include strategic planning, senior leadership development and general management consultancy. He is the co-founder of 64 Million Artists, an Associate with peoplemakeitwork, and is the former Artistic Director of Battersea Arts Centre, south London’s trailblazing theatre venue.
Faye has a 20 year career in the building, engineering and management systems sector. Sales Director for Lloret, delivering smart, sustainable, healthy buildings, Faye has created a pipeline of projects with Architects and Consultants worth over £5m. In her role as Commercial Operations Director for Flakt Group UK, she led the Transformation Project to integrate the financial operating systems, project management and customer service teams across 7 offices.
James is a founding member of the design-led practice Assemble and since 2015 has been a postgraduate studio leader at the CASS School of Architecture and Design. Assemble is a multi-disciplinary collective working across architecture, design and art. Winners of the prestigious Turner Prize in 2015, Assemble has pioneered a democratic and co-operative working practice to deliver projects of social impact - both making things, and making things happen.
James is a designer and fabricator, and runs Other Fabrications, a consultancy, design, development, fabrication and management service for the production of sculptural works, installations, bespoke products and architectural projects. Founded in 2011, he has undertaken many exciting collaborations with artists, designers and architects all over the world, and is leading the re-fabrication process for Dreamachine.
Nathan is a Director and trustee of East London Waterworks Park, collaboratively leading the charity’s strategy, including building political support to create a new community-owned biodiverse park. Nathan Initiated and executed the fundraising and communications strategy of a crowdfunding campaign to buy land from the government for the community, raising £540k from over 5000 people.
Gleeds is a global built environment consultancy, leading projects that enhance communities, collaborating on major infrastructure and property programmes. They have extensive experience in maintaining and enhancing some of the world’s most recognisable buildings of cultural, historical or religious significance. Chris is leading the tendering and appointment of our capital works team.
